Implementing ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 Standards

SHEQ IMS (Pty) Ltd specialises in implementing Quality, Environmental and Safety Standards for companies who endeavour to take their business to the next level.

More and more, larger Certified Companies are insisting on approved vendors being certificated with a SHEQ Management System as well.

SHEQ IMS (Pty) Ltd is not a Certification Body and may not certify your company against the Standards, however, we can recommend the best, having interacted with very good auditing companies in the field.

Process Mapping

To enhance the validity, currency as well as suitability of processes within a company, many of our customers have required a project where production, operational, and systems processes within their organisation are mapped. With a feet-on-the-ground approach, walking through the various processes, our SME’s track the processes from start to finish, assisting our customer to align operating procedures, standards, and other required documentation to the process.  In doing so, the customer is assured that all supporting documentation enabling the processes are established, approved, implemented and monitored for continual improvement, coupling the project to a documented information management process.  Process mapping determines the inputs and outputs expected from processes.  It determines the sequences and interaction of processes as well as determining the criteria and methods (monitoring and measuring) needed to ensure effective operation.  Efficient process mapping is linked to Risk Management and continual improvement of current processes. 

Awareness training on the ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 Standards

Our certified scope includes awareness training on the ISO Standards mentioned above. 

Online and inhouse training is available which includes practical application through activities, assessments, group discussions, etc. to ensure understanding and transfer of learning in the workplace. 

Training is also available for auditing based on the ISO 19011 Standard where candidates are taken through a theoretical and practical auditing programme. 

Candidates will engage with an internal customer, establish an audit plan, conduct the audit, provide feedback to the internal customer and write a report on the audit conducted.  Certificates of attendance are provided on completion of the training courses.

Coaching and Mentoring

Coaching & Mentoring of ISO Representatives who are responsible for the implementation / maintenance of their company’s ISO Management systems is available.  

A mentoring programme is established with the candidate where one-on-one meetings are conducted either online or inhouse. 

The candidates are provided with “homework” and continuous feedback sessions are scheduled to ensure progress and transfer of the candidate’s understanding into the workplace is achieved.  This service can be applied for personally by a candidate within a company or form part of a candidate’s Individual Development Plan established by their managers. 

Either way, SHEQ-IMS (Pty) Ltd comes along side to coach and mentor with the intention of providing personal growth for candidates as well as improvement of current management systems for the candidate’s organisation.  It can be considered as Training over a longer period of time, allowing context of requirements to be entrenched by the mentee.  

The SHEQ-IMS Subject matter expert is also available outside of the meeting dates for assistance and advice.

Auditing ISO 9001, 14001,
45001 and 17025 Standards

Our auditing of the International Standards is extensive and covers the implemented management systems as well as legal and regulatory requirements.

We have experience in auditing not only Safety and Health Departments, but Environmental Departments as well as Training Centres who are certified.

Full Audit Reports are provided with a list of corrective actions and we will, where required, provide a Corrective Management Plan to assist in fixing where the system has failed.

SHEQ Risk Assessments

Many companies require an Issue Based Risk Assessment in the Contractor Safety Files.  In our experience, this is daunting for contractors who have never conducted a risk assessment before.  Risk Assessment is also a requirement in the new ISO 9001:2015 Standard for Quality.  SHEQ IMS (Pty) Ltd have assisted a few mining companies with the updating of their Standard Operating Procedures (work procedures) which is initiated by an Issue Based Risk Assessment to determine the risks associated with tasks before the procedure is written. 

Verification and Validation

Verification & validation of processes is an important tool to determine effectiveness and compliance.

Verification and validation (also abbreviated as V&V) are independent procedures that are used together for checking that a product, service, or system meets requirements and specifications and that it fulfils its intended purpose.

Contractor Safety Files

Let us take the burden off your hands to compile your Contractor Safety File. We know that this can be an administrative nightmare for any Contract Site Manager.  We provide compilation of the Safety File, communicate with your host company and can administrate the maintenance of your file to ensure that medicals and induction expiry dates do not become a close call for blockage at the Host Company’s gate.

OHS Inspections

SHEQ-IMS (Pty) Ltd assist in conducting on-site civil inspections on construction sites. A Safety File is compiled based on the conditions of our customer’s Principal Contractor and Department of Labour requirements.  Monthly inspections are then carried out to verify compliance.  A report is provided to our customer on the inspection which may be submitted to the stakeholders.
